More Malifaux this week. Lots more Malifaux. Malifaux forever.

That's not true. I feel like I'm truly, and honestly, close to "finishing" my Arcanists. When I say "finish" I mostly mean having all the plastic figures painted, and having enough to field whatever I could want. "Finish" also means that I'm just on the treadmill picking up new releases as they come out. So, not "finish" in any real sense. But you know what I mean.

After that it's Resurrectionists. I'm enjoying Malifaux a lot, to be honest. I expect the near future will be Malifaux, more Reaper Bones for D&D, and Bolt Action Germans.

Anyway, this week I painted up the following:

More Ice Gamin. I have 6 of them painted now. I used them last week with Rasputina and won that game. Very fun game. I hope that 6 is enough, I suspect it will be, but if I had to paint up more it wouldn't be a big deal.

Canine remains were fun to paint. I'm also enjoying how they operate in the game. Marcus can use them and it helps get me off to a start on my Resurrectionists. I'm using Micro Art Studios Graveyard bases for all my Rezzers, so that'll be fun.

The Rail Workers were fun to paint. I'm going to try them out tonight (most likely, depends on the schemes and strategy and whatnot) and am hoping for the best.

And here's Mei Feng. I really like her mini a lot. I wish Kang were more "special", instead he's just a comically proportioned guy in a world of normally proportioned people. I don't hate the model, but it's not exciting.

This week I sold some Orks that I used to ally with my Tau. Not a huge loss, but they'll be missed.

Back in the black, today! Only bought 6 figures (more Malifaux stuff) and am starting to get some progress on all these Reaper Bones I have.

Quick thing about the Reaper Bones figures. I like them, but I don't love them. I'd try harder to make them nicer, but any time doing that (mostly on the preparation side, really) would just be better spent buying a metal figure saving me time. I still like them, and will be painting a lot of them here in the near future. Very happy with the figures, and would happily back a third Kickstarter should they choose to do one.

First are 12 Kobolds and 2 Leaders, a Boss and a Wizard. Fun figures, and I think this is where the material is at its strongest: monsters you need many of and who don't need to look fantastic. Happy with how these came out, too.

I'm running a Dungeons and Dragons game (I really, very, really like 5th Edition) and painted some characters for players as well as NPCs. All are Bones and I'm happy with how they came out.

I purchased a lot of models this week. I'm really enjoying Malifaux, but our group has a lot of Arcanist players so I'm switching gears to Ressurectionists. Might take a little while as I'm waiting on the Micro Art Studios bases Kickstarter to deliver (it seems like it'll be late for totally silly reasons) but here we are. Life is pain.

I am a little sad I'm running a 6 figure deficit, a 127 figure deficit if I were to keep to my goal of buying half as many models as I paint. I'll try to get back on track, I have a few big projects sitting in my closet waiting for paint.

This week I only painted 5 models, but they're all pretty big.

Mashaaf, The Great Old One, was a $12 add-on from the last Reaper Bones Kickstarter and he is totally a steal for that price. Very, very fun model to paint and he is huge. Not 100% sure what I'll use him for, but I just wanted to paint him. Pretty happy with how he came out. Also, he's huge. That poor heroic astronaut aint gonna last long against him.

I painted up the Damned Ones of Gluttony for Hell Dorado. Not that I have much interest in playing it, although I have some, but more about they were in a box for too long and too cool. Plus, I was painting Killjoy this week for Malifaux and their scheme was going to be pretty similar. It's not 3x as hard to paint 3 similar miniatures and all. Really happy with how they came out.

The Dawn Serpent. Ugh. Such a bad mini. I tried to paint it well, but just gave up and just wanted to get it done. Hate it. Pretty good in the game, though, sadly.

Killjoy was really fun to paint. I think he looks way better in person, too. Very fun to paint and I'm excited to try him out.
